SOLITUDE SOUGHT
HITLER’S MOUNTAIN RETREAT iIJ.P A.—Hy Electric* Telegraph -Copyrightl LONDON, 16th January. Herr Hitler has completed a costly eyrie at the summit of Kelhstein peak (6050 ft), south-west of Berchtesgaden, where he will plan his future actions in solitude, says the Berlin correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph.” A huge iron door opens unexpectedly to permit penetration of a rock wall, apparently blocking a spiral motor road. Explosives have been used to create a chamber on the other side, providing a limestone-floored, searchlighted garage, from which a lift ascends 1800 feet to the summit. The pavilion is constructed of steel and glass. Enormous windows afford beautiful mountain views.
