INTER-HOUSE CRICKET
ROBERTSON’S DEFEAT CITY COUNCIL At Trafalgar Park last evening Robertson’s played City Council in a friendly match, and were the winners by 19 runs. The state of the wicket no doubt assisted the bowlers to a certain extent, there being some particularly good averages. Council won the toss and batted, and Best and Hunter opened. The second ball off Glover Best hit a mighty six, the ball landing on the. mudflat Glover in his second over clean bowled three batsmen . Rosier also took three wickets in his fourth over. The last wicket fell at 59, Best being the only batsman to reach double figures. “Extras” top scored with 13. For Robertson’s Bell and Glover batted well, particularly Glover who retired when he had scored 31, the side being dismissed for 78 runs. Scores:— CITY COUNCIL H. Grindle, b Glover 8 L.
