MUSSOLINI’S PROMISE REAFFIRMED
TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF SPAIN (Received 17th January, 9.35 a.m.) GENEVA, 6th January. Lord Halifax, British Foreign Minister, entertained the French Foreign Minister, M. Bonnet, at dinner and reported on the Rome talks. French circles reveal that Lord Halifax told M. Bonnet, that Signor Mussolini authorised Mr Chamberlain to tell the House of Commons that Italy formally reaffirmed her promise to respect the territorial integrity of Spain, the Balearics and Spanish colonies. j
