FURTHER BIG INCREASE
IN UNION MEMBERSHIP I United Preta Association) AUCKLAND, 30th December. Although the membership of unions in the Dominion reached the record total last year of 232,986, it is anticipated that the returns for the year ending to-morrow will reveal a further substantial increase. In an interview to-day, Mr H. Campbell, secretary of the Auckland Trades Council of the Federation of Labour, said the work of the union offices had been increased by over fifty per cent, and the personnel of the office staffs proportionately. One union had £*n inside staff of ten, and had three organisers on the road.
