NORMA SHEARER’S HERO
Norma Shearer was excited the first time John Barrymore walked on the set as Louis, in “Marie Antoinette.” Although they both played in "Romeo and Juliet,” they had no scenes together, so they caught only fleeting glimpses of each other.
Norma was a fan of Barrymore’s back in the days of his glory on the legitimate stage. She remembers his first picture, "Beau Brummell,” in which she thought he was “just too wonderful!”
