STARS’ SISTERS
Sisters of well-known film actresses have always presented a pretty problem in the film colony. Not knowing quite how the public would appreciate duplication of their favourites, however lovely, producers have usually carefully ignored them, and the sisters themselves, in tacit agreement, have kept out of sight. Joan Fontaine, though not much like her sister, Oliva de Havilland. took no risks on her film career, and carefully concealed her identity until she \*on a good contract Sally Blane, who bears a striking resemblance to her lovely sister, Loretta Young, has been working hard for years, without getting anywhere. Now, nowever, the five Lane sisters are going down well with the public, Columbia has discovered Gloria Blon dell, sister of famous Joan Blondell, and put her on their payroll, it than Joan, who has done all she could to help her young sister. It was while visiting her on the "There’s Always a Woman” set that Gloria first caught the eye of Frank Capra, who suggested a test. She appeared in a few Radio pictures several years ago, and until lately had some good roles at Warners. And nobody was more pleased about
