DEATH AFTER ACCIDENT
A GIRL CYCLIST NEW PLYMOUTH, 30th December. Gladys Gomer, eleven-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Wilfred Gomer, Hawera, died late on Thursday night as the result of injuries received when she fell from her bicycle in a collision with another girl cyclist. She was taken home apparently uninjured, but later could not be roused and died before she could be taken to hospital. The child was found to have received mild concussion and to have ruptured a blood vessel, resulting in intercranial haemorrhage. She was a well-known performer in the dancing sections at competitions festivals in the North Island.
