HIGHER TARIFF
AUCKLAND LICENSED HOTELS MEETING INCREASED WAGES AUCKLAND. 20th December. A general increase in daily tariffs for board and residence, to come into force to-day. has been decided upon by licensed hotel operators in Auckland. The rise, which varies from approximately 5 per cent, to 7i per cent., is stated to be due to additional wages costs arising out of the operation, from sth December, of the new hotel workers’ award.
