JUNIOR CRICKET (From Our Own Correspondent! At Whakarewa on Saturday Riwaka ! gained an eight point win over the 1 local team whom they defeated by an innings and 79 runs Riwaka opened the batting and after j scoring 151 runs for seven wickets declared. The main contributors were K. Fowler 60 (retired), E. Scroggins 32, I and H. Fowler 31. Whakarewa collapsed under the bowling of W. Polden and E. Scroggins and were dismissed for 32. Following on, the home team showed little improvement and were all out for 40. M. Inwood not out 16 was the only player to reach double figures in the first innings, and with 13 in the second innings also led the batting. W. NGATIMOTI The match played at the High School I ground between Ngatimoti and High School resulted in a win for the former by runs on the first innings. Ngatimoti netted 54 in their opening strike to which School replied with 40. On returning Ngatimoti knocked up 126, and School had 111. on the board at stumps for the loss of seven wickets.
