NON-INTERVENTION COMMITTEE
WITHDRAWAL OF BELGIUM AND SWEDEN SIMILAR ACTION BY OTHER SMALL POWERS POSSIBLE iU P A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyrights LONDON, 29th November. Dr. Spaak, Prime Minister of Belgium, announced that Belgium was discontinuing her participation in the NonIntervention Committee, and was negotiating with a view to representation at Burgos. The Australian Associated Press says that in addition to Belgium’s action, Sweden has advised her intention of withdrawing her representative from the chairman’s sub-committee of the Non-Intervention Committee. Similar action by other small powers is possible. Official circles do not conceal their concern at the withdrawals, from which disturbing conclusions can be drawn. It is stated that there is no cause for change in the English and French views, but the possibility has arisen that the committee may quietly disappear. RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN OF BOARD Admiral Van Dulm resigned the chairmanship of the Non-Intervention Board dub to personal reasons. This action will not affect Holland’s participation. (Received 30th November, 1.25 p.m.) BRUSSELS, 29th November. The Senate approved of Mr Spark’s policy towards Spain.
