R.S.A. AND BEACH IMPROVEMENT I GALA [From Our Own Correspondent] At a meeting of the combined commit- J

tees of the Motueka Returned Soldiers’ Association and the Kaiteriteri Beach Improvement Society, held last evening, \l was decided that the annual R.S.A. gala will be held in conjunction with the Kaiteriteri Improvement Society at Kaiteriteri on Boxing Day, instead of at the Motueka Beach. A deputation, consisting of Messrs G.

F. Smith, F. Hamilton and J. G. Wilkinson, was appointed to wait on the Waimea County Council with the object ov seeking permission to charge for admission to the Kaiteriteri Beach on Boxing Day. In the course of the discussions as to the programme for the day it was decided t<. hold an “All-Schools Swimming Championship,” power boat, outboard and dinghy races, and athletic sports for the children and adults. The Motueka Athletic Club is to bp asked to take charge of the athletic sports. It was decided to solicit the donation of trophies from the business people of Nelson and Motueka, the Nelson donations to be left at Mr L. M. Montgomery’s garage. It was decided to bold a dance at the Kaiteriteri Hall and at the Riwaka Hall oj Boxing Night Messrs J. Goodyer and B. T. Rowling were appointed joint secretaries. A further meeting will be held at the Horticultural Hall, Motueka, on Tuesday next.
