Won by a length, half a length. Time, 1.12 2-5.
Oroua Nursery Handicap, of £100; five furlongs—3 Varimond, 7.2 (Howe), 1; 5 Pen, 7.7 (Gilmore), 2; 1 Lord Midas, 7.9 (Howell), 3. Scratched: Saxon Tor. Won by one and a half lengths, a length. Time, 1.1 1-5.
Rongotai Handicap, of £200; one mile and a quarter—6 Earl Colossus, 8.3 (Williams), 1; 3 Old Bill, 7.7 (Edwards), 2; 2 Corroborree, 9.0 (Tattersall), 3. Won by one and a-half lengths, a length between second and third. Time. 2.7.
Nikau Hack Handicap, of £130; six furlongs—B Copy Cat, 7.7 (Chaplin. 1; 3 Red Cat, 8.10 (Callahan), 2; 5 Sporting Gift, 9.2 (Tattersall). 3. Won by n neck, a Inegth between second and third. Time, 1.13 2-5.
Empire Handicap, of £150; seven furlongs—2 Old Surrey, 7.10 (Tattersall), 1; 5 Triune, 8.11 (Maria), 2; 3 Big Dook, 9.0 (Callahan), 3. Won by two and ahalf lengths; a length between second and third. Time, 1.26 2-5.
A good attendance lifted the investments from £14,487 on the second day in 1937 to £16.950 10s. with a total for the meeting of £43,240 10s.
