MINISTER OF MINES
VISIT TO KARAMEA I Uidled Press Association! WESTPORT, 28th November. The Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. Webb, spent to-day in the Karamea district inspecting the flood control works, with which he expressed the greatest satisfaction, saying farmers should now be free from flooding of their lands, a constant trouble since the days of the earthquake. Mr Webb also inspected lands on which machinery may be expected to play a big part in making the land more productive. A run was also taken out as far as vehicles could go on the road intended ultimately to connect Karamea with Collingwood.
