HUDSON CUP SINGLES COMPETITION WON BY V. POTTER The Hudson Cup handicap singles competition played at the Motueka Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon was won by V. Potter, who defeated K. Starnes in the final by 40-34, after a keenly fought contest. j Particulars of play are as follows: A. Ngihtingale (scr) won from F. Wright (scr) 40-23. ! P. Craig (scr) won from L. Glover 1 (scr) 40-33. W. Starnes (scr) won by default from A. Taylor (-3). i K. Starnes (scr) beat J. Cosgrove; | (plus 8), 40-27. j H. Glover (scr) lost to V. Potter; (minus 5), 40-32. Nightingale won from Craig, 40-26. ! In the semi-final W. Starnes lost to 1 K. Starnes, 40-35 and Potter beat Nightingale. 40-34. I In the final game K. Starnes lost to V. Potter. 40-34.
