MEETING THE DEFICIT GOVERNMENT PLANS APPROVED iU P A.-By Electric Telegraph-Uopyriuhtl (Received 28th November, 11.30 a.m.) BERNE, 27th November. A Federal plebiscite resulted in 507,000 voting in favour of the Government’s plan to balance the budget in three years, and 194,000 against The Young Peasant and Communist Parties recommended rejection. Fiftysix per cent, of the electorate polled. The plans include a national defence tax and taxation on capital yields at their source. The plans are expected to effect economies amounting to £5,400,000 and bring in new revenue amounting to £6,600,000. The yearly deficit is still £1,000,000.
