PUBLIC WORKS MINISTER
VISIT TO BAY DISTRICT ROAD MATTERS IN COLLINGWOOD (From Our Own Reporter) * TAKAKA. This Day. The Hon R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, arrived in Nelson yesterday morning and spent the day quietly with his two grandchildren, who are in Nelson. This morning the Minister, accompanied by Mr C. J. Skinner, M.P., Mr J. Wood. Engineer-in-Chief, Public Works Department, Mr T. A. Johnston, District Engineer, and Mr D. M. Grover, private secretary, proceeded to Collingwood. where the Minister will receive a deputation from the Collingwood County Council on road matters. The Minister had intended to-day to visit the Cobb Valley hydro works now in course of construction, but owing to wet weather decided to leave this visit until to-morrow. The Hon. G. R. Hunter and Mr H. S. Sterling, directors of the Cobb River Company, are accompanying *he Minister on the Cobb Valley visit.
