SIR WILLIAM BIRDWOOD

Field-Marshal Sir William Birdwood, who attended the funeral of Kamal Ataturk, has returned to England, crossing the Channel in the same steamer as Mr Chamberlain and Lord Halifax. Lord Birdwood had to be carried ashore because of an inflamed foot, which was injured on his way to Ankara.
