Henry Armstrong (1341 b) gained a decision over Garcia (146J1b) in a j bout for the welterweight boxing title. , A crowd of 13.000, which was the ! largest ever to witness an indoor j welterweight title fight, saw the chamj pion Armstrong win in disappointingly ! easy fashion. j Garcia took only three of the fifteen i rounds, according to the United Press I representative, and one of those as the result of a foul. Armstrong won ten j and two were even. Armstrong continually charged in hammering the Filipino's head and body with short jolting hooks. Only twice did Garcia land his much publicised upper-cut, staggering Armstrong in the sixth and twelfth rounds.
