TOTALLY DESTROYED BY FIRE

MAHANA HOUSE BURNT TO GROUND ! ! Yesterday afternoon the home of Mr j R. H. Richards, of Mahana. was totally I destroyed by fire. Mr and Mrs Richards were in the house at the time and had Ino warning until the flames burst through the ceiling. There was a strong northerly wind blowing at the time and Mr and Mr* Richards had time only to ! save some of the babies’ clothes and get out of the house. In the absence of any water supply the residents in the vicinity could do j nothing to assist and the house and I contents were completely demolished. The dwelling was insured for £9OO in the Norwich Union Office and the furniture and personal effects for £250 1 in the same office.
