REDWOOD’S VALLEY
W.D.F.U. The November meeting of the Redwood’s Valley W.D.F.U. was held in the hall when there was a fairly good attendance of members. The president, Mrs Callaghan, presided, and apologised for the absence of the secretary. Mrs Challies. The meeting opened with the reading of the Creed. The programme was appropriate for the spring season. The roll call, “A spring-cleaning hint”, was well responded to and brought forth some very useful suggestions. A member then displayed a neatly-made rucked cushion which was admired and keenly observed by those with an eye to renovations. A collection was taken up to supplement the donation which has been sent to the Leper Christmas Gift Fund. A “bring and buy” then occupied the time and all the goods met with a ready sale and resulted in a useful sum to add to branch funds. The competition results were:— Best rose, Mrs J. L. Brown 1, Miss Sutton 2. Jam taßts: Mrs G. Brown, 1; Mrs L. Bright 2 . A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Henrick, Edyvean, and Cole, and completed the enjoyment of a very pleasant afternoon.
