UNREST GROWING AMONG MINERS [U.P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, 23rd November. The General Confederation of Trades Unions has decided on a short general strike on Friday. Fifteen thousand metal workers at Lille are expected to join the Valenciennes strikes. Unrest is growing among the miners and protest meetings will be held throughout the country on Saturday. The number of strikers in France now total between 26,000 and 27,000. 39,000 ON STRIKE (Received 25th November, 9.40 a.m.) PARIS, 24th November. The strikes are extending, including 4000 miners in the Anzin Basin. The strikers now total 39,000. The police have been reinforced and are evacuating workers.
