GERMANS AND JEWS IN COLONIES I British Official Wirelessl RUGBY, 23rd November. The Colonial Secretary, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, told the House of Commons to-day that he had received no reports of friction between Germans and Jews domiciled in any British colony. In another answer Mr MacDonald mentioned that the European community of Tanganyika was estimated at the end of 1937 to be 9107, including 2931 Germans.
