REMINDED OF DUTY TO GOD MESSAGE FROM I.ORI) SOMERS Jl I .P.A. —By Electric Telegraph— Copyrigbtl (Received 25th November, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, 24th November. The Deputy Chief Scout, Lord Somers, of the Boy Scou*s Association, circulated a notice reaffirming the first Scout promise, “I promise on my honour to do my best to do my duty to God.” emphasising that a scout cannot belong to any organisation denying the existence of God. An official said that the message was regarded as necessary in the present troubled state of the world and the growth of the anti-God movement. He explainr/i that no specific incident had prompted the statement.
