APPEAL AGAINST SENTENCE ON HERCOCK [United Pre6B Association! NAPIER, 23rd November. An appeal has been lodged by solicitors acting for Colin Herbert Hercock against the sentence of 12 years’ bard labour imposed on him' by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in the Supreme Court, Napier, recently. Hercock was charged with the murder of Mrs Isobel Atuiie Aves, but a jury found him guilty of manslaughter only. At the Supreme Court trial Hercock was represented by Mr C. H. Weston, K.C., with him Mr C. E. Harker, Waipavva. The Crown case was conducted by Mr H. B. Lusk.
