WIN FOR WAIMEA
INNINGS VICTORY OVER Y.M.C.A. The second day of the match Waimea v. Y.M.C.A. played at Stoke commenced with Y.M.C.A. having lost 7 wickets for 47 runs in their first innings. The addition of ten runs saw the innings closed. The follow-on began disastrously, two wickets being down for 4; then, however, Hurst and J. Du Feu were associated in a very valuable third wicket partnership which put on 121 runs; J. Du Feu was caught by Fowler off Joyce. His 41, which included 6 fours was a sound knock. Hurst batted attractively, his 78 including 16 fours. The second innings realised 154 runs, Waimea winnings by an innings and 76 runs.
