PRINCESS KOUKA IN “JERICHO” Every little while some nation surenders to the waiting world of film audiences a new personality. The American continent has produced a dozen. Now from Africa comes Kouka. Princess Kouka plays opposite Paul Robeson in the magnificent drama of the Sahara, entitled “Jericho.” Walter Futter, the producer, discovered her when he was searching her native country for suitable villages for location work. She made a big impression on him. Apart from native dialect the only language she knew was French; the only colthes she knew were flowing robes, silken and richly coloured; the only acting she knew was instinctive mime. She has. however, in unlimited measure, what the screen primarily demands —outstanding personality. •
