GEOLOGISTS ATTACKED DUTCH NEW GUINEA LONDON, .”-.ih June. Near Waropen, Dutch New Guinea, a geological party sent out by the Dutch Petroleum Company endured a threedays’ attack from ambushed archers ol‘ the Bandjis tribe, who wore cane cuirasses, and had sticks thrust through their noses and feathered headdresses. Advised by wireless, the controller at Seroei sent an aeroplane to the rescue, with 15 field police. No lives were lost.
