SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOULD THEY BE ABANDONED THIS YEAR ? [United Press Association] WELLINGTON. This Day. The New Zealand Golf Council, at its monthly meeting, resolved to write to the advisory committees in Canterbury and Otago for their suggestions whether they thought the South Island close amateur championships should be abandoned for this year, or if not to suggest a suitable date.
