PACT WITH VATICAN I United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph-Copyright! Received 29th March, 9.0 a.m.) LONDON. 28th March. The “Daily Herald” says Herr Hitler concluded an agreement with the Vatican before his invasion of Austria, which the bishop's declaration yesterday confirms.
Herr Brandi, the former Vienna chief of police, negotiated a pact under which, with the object of eliminating Roman Catholic opposition, it was agreed to respect the rights of the Austrian churches and to grant concessions to German Catholics.
