HABITUAL CRIMINAL DECLARATION
SET ASIDE ON APPEAL [United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Oopyrightl SYDNEY. 25th March. The Court of Appeal set aside the habitual criminal declaration against Arthur Robinson. 79, on a legal point that evidence of the man’s conviction was not placed before the judge when the declaration was made. Robinson was declared an habitual criminal ’ ’ Mr Justice Thomson at the quarter sessions on Bth March. According to the police report, the prisoner first came under notice for crime in 1886. and since then had been in and out of jail in Australia and New Zealand.
