OBITUARY
MR H. J. D. MAHON (B? Telegraph —Press Association! AUCKLAND. This Day The death occurred of Mr H. J. D. Mahon, aged 66 years, president of the Auckland University College. He retired two years ago from the headmastership of the Auckland Grammar School after which he had a trip abroad. His end was tragically sudden. He presided yesterday afternoon at a meeting of the University College Council, when he appeared to be in perfect health. He took ill early this morning and died half-an-hour later. He was associated with the Grammar School for almost half a century, and had a most distinguished career as a headmaster and educationist.
