OBITUARY
MR F. WEBB JONES [By Telegraph—Press Association) WANGANUI, This Day. The death occurred last night of Mr F. Webb Jones, editor of the “Wanganui Herald” for 35 years, aged 74. Born in Wanganui in 1864 he took an interest in public affairs, and was a member of the Patriotic Society and the Development League, being the first pi'esident of the latter body. Ue took an active interest in Methodism for over half a century; was circuit steward for nearly 30 years and Sunday school superintendent for 25 years, and was for many years a delegate to the annual conference of the Methodist Church. He was a prominent Mason and was well known in bowling cii’cles, being a foundation member of the Gonville Club.
