FIRM STAND BY BRITAIN
RIGHTS OF JAPAN NOT RECOGNISED
(Received 13th January, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, 12th January. It is confirmed officially at Whitehall that Britain has made it very clear to Japan that she reserves all rights to navigate the Yangtse in any direction and does not recognise the right of Japan to interfere in any way.
