Among the outstanding contests staged by the members of the Nelson Club were the 3 mile cycling contest, in which A. Lummis succeeded in narrowly defeating F. Delaney and J. Burns, and men’s junior lOv and 220 yards events, in the first of which G. C. Wood was successful, while A. Warren won the latter event in good time. The results of the evening were as follows: Half mile cycle: Ist heat. Burns 1, T. Langley 2, Delaney 3; 2nd heat, E. Langley 1, Thomas 2, J. Robson 3. Final, E. Langley 1, Thomas 2. Burns 3. 100 yards junior: G. C. Wocd 1, C. L. Mead 2, A. Donn 3. 100 yards senior: J. Sutherland 1, Chapman 2 Haase 3. 100 yards ladies: Miss Ford 1, Miss V. Frost 2, Miss Karsten 3. 1 mile handicap: McMorland 1, Cox 2, Barron 3. 50 yards ladies: Miss Karsten 1, Miss Ford 2, Miss R. Ruffell 3 220 yards junior: A.
