(Received 21st December, 10.10 a.m.) CAIRO, 20th December. The Holy Synod of the Egyptian Coptic Church excommunicated Amba Abraham, whom the Italians recently nominated as Patriarch of Abyssinia.
A message from Rome dated Ist December stated that the Coptic Church of Abyssinia had been detached from the influence of the Patriarch at Alexandria and included in the sphere of Italian activities. An Italian nominee would supersede the Abuna Cyril, the Abyssinian Primate.
