The lifleen-yeai'-okl apprentice Max Papworth, who was injured in the smash at the A.J.C. meeting at Randwick on Saturday, died in hospital. Two other jockeys, Findlay and Sopping, are still in hospital but are progressing, while the remaining two, Thomson and Dyer, have practically recovered.
