WARD SISTER RESIGNS
FINE RECORD OF SERVICE The resignation of Sister F. V. M. Woodham, after 17 years’ service, was received by the Nelson Hospital Board yesterday afternoon. The acting-chairman. Mr J. Fitzgerald, said that the sister's record of service was a wonderful one. He moved that the board place on record its sincere regret at the resignation of Sister Woodham. In all parts of the district one heard of the capacity and kindness of the Sister.
Mr H. Tunniclille seconded the motion and added his tribute. Mrs A. Watson said that in the men's ward they al| had a good word for the sister. Mr F. W. Gibbs paid a tribute to the sister’s remarkable tact. One never heard a word against her, he added. The Medical Superintendent. Dr P. C. Brunette said that Sister Woodham was a most efficient sister, he was extremely sorry to lose her, and she would be very hard to replace. Tlie tributes were endorsed by all board members and the ManagingSecretary, Mr G. Chapman. The chairman said that the fact that everyone had referred to the sister's value was a striking tribute. The motion was carried. The chairman then moved that the board show its appreciation by giving Sister Woodham three months’ leave on full salary. The motion was carried
