MOTUEKA ANI> WARM LA AREAS 11,000 VOLT LINES EXTENDED TO TAHUNANUI In their report to the Waimca Electric Power Board yesterday the consult ini? engineers, Messrs Vickerman and Lancaster, referred to the fact that the 11.000 volt system has now been extended to include Tahunanui, and the reconstruction of the old high tension lines is. therefore, completed from Brightwater to Tahuna, and the board’s Motueka and Waimea areas arc operated as one electric system. As previously indicated, said the report, the line to Nelson will now be put in hand, and the old line to Wakefield will be converted to 11.000 volts. A loop line is being constructed from the Brightwatcr-Richmond feeder via Hope to the Mapua-Richmond line at Appleby. , This will facilitate further work contemplated in the Richmond area. Mr W. Max congratulated the staff on tiie way they had erected the 11.000 volt line to Tahunanui. It was a credit to the engineers. The chairman, Mr H. E. Stephens, agreed and said he thought that they had reason to congratulate themselves on the short time taken on the job.
