BOY FATALLY CRUSHED
RAILWAY YARDS ACCIDENT I'Jy Telegraph—Press Asroclatjuul INVERCARGILL, 17th November. As a result of an accident which occurred in the railway yards this morning, Bowen Barnett Eades, metal work- ; ers’ assistant, aged 16, received injuries from which he died while being conveyed to hospital. Eades, in company with two men and another assistant, was engaged in loading a locomotive on to a railway truck. The jacking-up of the locomotive had Ijust commenced when it slipped sidei ways and jammed the boy against a railway truck. He was badly crushed . about the pelvis and received internal injuries. A doctor was immediately summoned and an ambulance not'tied, but it was about 25 minutes before the injured boy could be extricated, and he died ■ on the way to hopsital in the ambu- ' lance. i
