After 26 years of service as an executive officer with the Auckland Hospital Board, Dr. C E. Maguire, medical superintnedent of the Aucki land infirmary, will retire from his [ position on. 31st March next, states a I P.A. message from Auckland. When | iie relinquishes the position Dr. Maguire will be granted three months' I leave of absence on full pay. | Miss Beatrice Beauchamp has return;ed from an extended holiday in the j south, where she spent some time with her sister in Christchurch. Mr D. M. E. Merry, ot the Head Office of the Department of Agriculture, has been appointed Inspector in Agriculture in Nelson, in succession to Mr 11. de O. Chamberlain, who has been transferred to Wellington as supervisor of show exhibits. Mr Merry secured h s M.Agr.Sc. degree at Massey College, and has occupied the position of assistant crop experimentalist at Head ' Olliee, Wellington. Mr Chamberlain ; was in the district for only ten months, but had carried out much useful work, land will be heartily congratulated on j his promotion.
