CLAIM FOR DAMAGES FAILS
INJURIES TO HAND i Hr 'l’elperaph - I’rest* Afwir.iutiont INVERCARGILL. 16th November. The hearing of the case in which Thomas Robert Edwin Moss, Mc.rton Mains, claimed from the Crown (he sum of £1955 damages for injuries received when his hand came in contact with the (ablet apparatus on (he Morton Mains railway station on 14th October, was concluded in the Supreme Court to-day. The jury returned a verdict in favour of defendant, and added the following rider: "We do not consider cast-iron a suitable metal for the construction of an apparatus of this type."
