LATE RAMSAY MACDONALD
SUDDEN ILLNESS ON LINER [Uni(ed Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copy rightl (Received 17th November, 9.0 a.m.) BERMUDA, 15th November. Mr Ramsay MacDonald’s body was taken ashore. It is learned there was no sign of illness until he complained of pains in the chest after lunch on 9th November, The ship’s doctor treated him for indigestion and prescribed a rest. Mr MacDonald appeared to recover and later walked on deck. The doctor was summoned to his cabin at 6.30 p.m. and found Mr MacDonald fighting for breath. Oxygen proved of no avail and he died at 7,45 p.m. MEMORIAL SERVICE IN BERMUDA (Received 17th November, 10.10 a.m.) HAMILTON (Bermuda), 16th November. After memorial service in the cathedral, the body of Hie late Mr Ramsay MacDonald was taken aboard the cruiser Apollo, accompanied by Miss Sheila MacDonald. Thousands filed past the casket.
