WINTER SHOW BUILDINGS FORMER EMPLOYEE COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE (By Telegraph —Press Association! WELLINGTON, This Day. On the evening of Ist October the Wellington Winter Show buildings hart a narrow escape from serious fire; and to-day John O’Grady, aged 54 years, labourer, pleaded guilty to wilfully sct r ting them on fire and was committedto the Supreme Court for sentence. It was stated in evidence that accused had worked for the Show Association on relief at varying periods, but had not been employed there for five months, although he had applied for employment. Instructions had been given not to employ him, as he was not a suitable person. He adopted a hostile attitude when refused work.
