POLICY CRITICISED

N.Z. ROWING ASSOCIATION FINANCING EMPIRE GAMES CREWS IBy Telegraph—Press Assoeiationl DUNEDIN, 15th November. Members of the executive of the Otago Rowing Association criticised strongly the policy adopted by the New Zealand association toward financing the visit to the Empire Games of New Zealand crews. The parent body asked all associations to make guarantees, but the local association considered that the trip should be financed out of the former’s funds and that provincial bodies which are not in a position to find more money should not be burdened with the additional responsibility. It was decided to ask that a special meeting of delegates to the New Zealand association be called to consider the question of the investment of funds so as to allow sufficient to be released to meet the balance of the expense of sending crews to the games, subscription lists to be opened locally in the meantime. It was also decided to ask delegates to rescind the decision concerning the date and venue of the interprovir cial eight-oared championship set down for Wanganui at Easter.
