CRIPPLED CHILDREN’S DAY
COLLECTION TO-MORROW To-morrow the public will be given an opportunity, through collectors, of helping this worthy cause. At present there arc some thirty children in the Nelson district whose condition calls loudly for help. Medical men have given of their best, free of all cost, to the Society, and orthopaedic surgeons have rendered signal service. The Hon. Mr Fraser, Minister of Health, is in entire sympathy with the appeal of the Nelson branch of the Crippled Children Society, saying that anything that can be done to alleviate the condition of the crippled child has his warmest support. Lord Nuffield speaking recently in Wellington. said he would not like to depart from this life without feeling that he had done something to help crippled children. The people of Nelson have a reputation for charitable mindedness. It is confidently hoped that to-morrow there will be a generous response to the efforts of the Nelson branch whose funds arc solely donated to the crippled children of the city and country districts of Nelson.
