TRAIN PASSENGER’S HAND , INJURY [By Telegraph—Press Association! INVERCARGILL, 15th November. In the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr Justice Kennedy and a jury, Thomas Robert Edwin Moss, labourer, Morton Mains, claimed from the Crown £355 special damages and £I6OO general damages for injuries received on 14th October, 1936, when he was a passenger in an express between Woodlands and Balclutha. Mr G. J. Reed, who appeared for plaintiff, said his client had been preparing to wave to his fiancee when the train was passing through Morton Mains station, and his hand was caught by the tablet exchanger and severely torn. By statute, claims in such cases against the Crown were limited to £2OOO. After the hearing of evidence for plaintiff, the court adjourned till tomorrow.
