NELSON BRANCH BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE
On Wednesday, 20th October in the Theatre Royal, the Nelson Branch of the Britsh Drama League will present four plays to be judged by Miss Elizabeth Loe, who holds Ist class certificate with honours C.S.S.T.D.A., London, and late of Hull Repertory Theatre. The plays are: “Slow Curtain,” produced by Miss L. Ingram for the Drama Circle of the Women’s Institute, Motueka; “Snowed up with the Duchess,” produced by Mrs Corby for the Stoke-Wa-katu Women’s Institute; “Sanctuary,” produced for the Nelson Women’s Club by Mrs P. R. Parker and Mrs Earle Johnson, a play founded on fact; “Lonesome Like,” by the Wakefield Players. Miss Loe will hold a drama school at the Marsden Library on 21st October, afternoon and evening sessions.
