THE NELSON CLUB NEWMAN WINS CAPTAIN’S TROPHY WEEK-END MATCHES Tho semi-finals and also flic finals of 1 lie captain’s trophy were played during tin last week-end, and in I lie semi-finals Park heat Collins and Newman boat B. Lee. Tlie final between Park and Newman brought out some excellent golf, and was won bv Newman, three and one. FOUR-BALL BOGEY On Saturday at the Tahunantii links, a Four-ball Bogey was played. This was won by R. Ralfe and Low. The cards banded in wore as follows: —R. Ralte and Low 6 up; Griffin and Symcs 4 up; Huggins and Squires 4 up; Ilill and Langston 2 up; J. (oote and Mansell 2 up. A post entry four-ball bogey was also played, the best card being Huggins and J. H. Ralfe 3 up. Rr.DWOOD’S VALLEY MATCHES On Saturday, the 25th, home and home matches will be played between the Nelson Club and llie Redwood's Valley Club. The following players will represent Nelson to play at Redwood’s Valiev: Wallis, Neale, Duke, Giles, Kerridge, Holme, J. Coote, G. A. B. Hoby, Ott, Pike. The following team will represent Nelson on the Tabunanui Links: C. Collins, O. Hoby, G. W. Mitchell, Mansell, Renton, Trathen, Squires, C. H. Griffin, Bone, Low. If any of the above are unable to play, please advise the match committee immediately. CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Saturday next, the final of tho championship will be played between Newman and R. Ralfe: the Leggatt Cup final between Baigent and Bcyes; the Cock Cup final between Low and Cameron; and the Founders’ Cup final between .J. C. (oote and Hulme; each match over 36 holes. The second round of these matches will start at 1.30 p.m. and at the conclusion of the matches, the prize-giving will be held. The match committee have arrangements in band for the holding of putting and approaching competitions between the finishing of the finals and the prizegiving.
