Herr Hitler explained to a meeting of the Labour Front that his throat trouble would not permit his scheduled speech; but General Goering, who deputised, frankly admitted that “millions of our working comrades are still aloof from us and still influenced by Communist ideas.” Herr Hitler, who addressed a mass meeting of Hitler youth in pouring rain, said after Germany had endured such weather for fifteen years, Nazi-ism had brought sunshine, but youth must he trained to face storms and make sacrifices.
