OPIUM OFFENCES
MAN IMPRISONED AND FINED [Uy Telegraph —Press Association! AUCKLAND, 10th September. The occupier of a heavily-barricaded building which was raided liy detectives on Wednesday night, Stanley Chin Horne, aged 47, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to permitting the premises in Grey’s Avenue to be used for the smoking of opium and to another charge of being found in possession of prepared opium. Stating that Horne had six previous convictions for opium offences, Mr Orr Walker, S.M., sentenced him to two months’ imprisonment on the first charge and fined him £25 on the other.
